This entire cupboard was full of just cookbooks! Now I have freed up 2 more shelves I can use for a better purpose.
( Can you tell what we eat plenty of in the morning?....Oats, the organic flavor packs or the raw oats). Anyway, on with the solution.
Well, I literally had this entire cupboard full of cookbooks, about 28 actually. What can I say? It got away from me somehow! And if you judge me, I will join you because that is down right unnecessary! But anyway, while looking at all of it, I realized, I only use 2 or 3 favorite recipes out of most of the books that I had and I needed these shelves for more important things. So I came up with this family cookbook. I just made copies of those tried and proven " best dishes" out of each book and put them in our Family Favorites folder. I donated the cookbooks we did not need anymore to our local thrift store. Now you'll see some cookbooks on the top shelf and that's because I use those ALOT and my girls use them (they love to cook and bake).
I'm loving the ease of finding that certain recipe filed away in the folder in its category. Magazines and recipe boxes are still under construction in between me writing this. I'm purging all of those out as well and storing the favorites in the folder.
Oh! And I really like how these photo holders (pictured below ) are working out. I'm using them to kind of corral my loose recipe cards and magazine clippings in the folder. I found these at Michaels for $1.00.
Hope this helps someone maybe in the same situation I was. It wasn't hard at all just takes a little bit of time.
Have a blessed day!
