Well,we had a great time and really enjoyed each other over spring break. We took a road trip and sometimes, when you have young children, trips get a little tasking at times, depending on how many moving parts you have and all you have planned. At some points you might feel like.. is there such a thing as needing a break from your break? But the truth of the matter is, by taking these "time-outs " (however exhausting they might be) we are making deposits into our little ones memory bank that they can later withdraw when they need a sweet memory to be comforted by or to share with someone else. When they are older, and are far from home one day, they can be comforted by these precious memories. And that's what it's all about. It might be a little exhausting at certain points, but it's a good tired and so worth it just to get that one funny moment you'll never forget or that one crazy happening. Because often times, we don't remember days, we remember moments. One of their favorite stories this past trip (not my favorite, their favorite) was:
Warning: cat lovers don't read any further...
I was laying in the pull-out couch, dead asleep, at my in-laws and (I strongly dislike cats) I was laying there and in my dream someone was pushing me, trying to wake me, then it was like from my foot all the way up to my belly something was pushing me, I awoke from what I thought was a dream and low and behold, it was Mom-in-laws precious fluffy. Next thing I knew, a big ball of fluff was flyin' across the room! I had kicked that fat cat off of me so fast!! Meeow!!! In the middle of the night she goes :)
Alright on to bigger and better things.....I'm done....more HAPPIER memories to come.......
