There is absolutely way too much to blog here so Im gonna break it up into two parts. This is part one, "Touring D.C." (Pics are below)
Big thanks to Julie and Stephen for the accommodations and really making it all possible! So blessed!! Never in my wildest dreams did I think it would be that beautiful. It was a real treat.
I love being an American and having an immigrant mother and a Marine for a Dad has been very instrumental in that. My mother lived on the other side of the fence and knew the flip side of things quite well. My mother taught us to be thankful patriots to our country. She was very grateful for what she had here in America and for what America represented as a nation to other countries. Here, she had freedom to speak, to be a light, to worship, to think for herself and just live freely. Things we take for granted every day, some folks are praying and begging God for right now and she reminded us of this quite often.
Anyway, so we toured the capital last week and we really were not thinking about the unstable economy and the mess, and the struggles that D.C. might represent to some today but rather we considered what or Who was this great nation founded upon? And what we found was pretty solid😊 As solid as the Rock.... I might add!!
Capital Building behind us.
White House decked out for Christmas
National Monument behind us.
Lincoln Memorial
Water Area at National Mall
Smithsonian Institute... Very Educational
mixed with lots of fun.
National Harbor

And the next blog is "meet my side of the family" (because I have to upload all my pictures here anyway, for my Mom, so she can download them off my blog since Ive taken a break from Facebook at the moment).
Have a great evening folks :)
Oh and fellow Americans.... what a "goodly heritage" we have! A God-fearing one for sure. Don't believe me? just tour the capital😊.
