I was teaching my kids about light today for science class but God was teaching my heart about Himself and His word at the exact same time. It was quite amazing. I had to share it.
1. Light always travels in a straight line. Done, that's that. No argument there. We aren't talking lightening and electric current because that is different, we are solely talking about light and its rays, they always travel in a straight line. No turning corners right or left, it's always straight.
2. Light can only travel through transparent objects. That's interesting too. Light cannot go through opaque objects (or objects that cannot be seen through) for it will simply absorb some and reflect some but light can't penetrate through it. You know, coming to the Light or the light of His word with this attitude, "Just as I am", with transparency, see-through if you will, verses coming to the Light or church or my devotion with sun visors already down and the blinds shut on the windows, curtains pulled, which attitude can I expect to receive more light with? Naturally, a transparent one. One willing to be open and honest with God, transparent.
3. Light is energy traveling from its source to an object and it travels faster than anything else that scientist know of, traveling 186,000 miles per second. They still can't fully explain it.
All I can say here is, that's Him! Blowing minds everywhere He goes (which is everywhere, all the time!!) . Breaking records, puzzling doctors, baffling the gain sayer, that's Him!!!! And what I stand amazed at is that's my LIGHT! That's such a blessing to know, encourages me. I hope He's yours too!
I John 1:4-5
In him was life; and the life was the light of men.And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
I John 1:5
“This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.”
Psalms 27 :1
The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
