Shantell, CHERISH those special MOMENTS with the kids,
worry
less about the house,
it will always be there to clean
but they won't be.

Insecurities Growing at an All Time Rate...whose to blame?
I'm convinced that when we become adults, we alone are responsible for our own insecurities. How we see ourselves in our head is our own decision. And an image lining up with the Creator is a good self-image to have in your head. Many times we have this perfect, flawless image in our head of what we are "supposed" to be and when we don't attain it or fall short, we feel that we are not "good enough" and so then these negative opinions about ourselves develop and soon they start to define us. And we are described as, "Oh, he or she is very insecure." But if we kept a more balanced image of just who we are in and through Christ, we might not have these negative feelings. He knows we are not flawless and yet he still calls us precious in His sight, remember the song "When He sees me" , we sing it but do we really believe that? Where is our focus? We will never get an accurate reading of where we stand when the "ruler" that we are using to measure ourselves by ( another imperfect man or women) is faulty or flawed itself? We will be so much happier being OUR best and nobody else's. If we saw what the Lord saw, (not what the commercials tell us we are or are not) I believe we'd have far less insecurities and a healthier self- image.

"Life's not fair but God is just."
"...and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me."
Isaiah 45:21b
Isaiah 45:21b
Even though man may have good intentions, they are not always fair, partly due to the fact, they aren't perfect but also, man is not omnipotent. Man can't see all or know all that's being said or done all the time to make a perfect judgement call every single time. How many prisoner's have served time and we find out years later they really were innocent? So life just isn't fair sometimes. And may I point out something else about " fairness," by definition, it means "consistent to rules and logic and tactics", however, now a days, everyone's rules and logic is different. So where does that get us? Nowhere and possibly really down when it comes your way.
But what a blessed assurance to know that God is a just God and the ultimate Judge of all things. He knows all facts and has all reason, and we can trust His ways and His judgement with our lives. And in every situation, no matter what man tries to do or seems to be getting away with, in the end, justice will be served.
".....seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you; "
2 Thessalonians 1:6
2 Thessalonians 1:6
" For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another."
Psalms 75:6-7

Another lesson from my "Mum" and she used to quote
"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things." Phil.4:8

Remembering and passing on biblical principles to the next generation thereby making them stronger not weaker.
This "Stronger Roast" page is my endeavor to chronicle quotes and principles that my Mother taught me and I now teach to my children. In a way, because I was brought up in Christianity, my children are what some call, "third generation Christians" ...no glory there on our part, we could blow the "Christian" part of that in a day, very aware of that, but technically it is what it is. Anyway, there are Christian principles that I had the blessing of being taught that I feel is my responsibility to now pass down to them and would like to journal them here and share them because they are very good for all walks of life (and some are very funny.... and good). The first one is simple and it was first taught to me in reference to me talking about how some of my siblings weren't doing right, and the whoopins' they had or had not received and so on. She said,
"Well, you just worry about you."
Well, as an adult this still resonates with me because when my brother or sister in Christ is out of sorts or bent out of shape and God's dealing with them (or seemingly not) or they are in the hot seat that I might have been in last month, to meddle or pry into these affairs is wrong. God says not to allow ourselves to be a busybody in other men's matters. The Heavenly Father can handle His own children... that's His business we are meddling in!! Now, if they are being hurt or in danger by others that's a different subject for a different day. But as far as every day living, I don't know about you but myself and my own children are enough to keep me busy.
1 Peter 4:15 is where this principle is found.
