If you're in the military and you've had to move around because you were stationed in other states and countries, are you a church hopper? If your health was failing you and you had to move in with family and leave your church to join theirs, are you a church hopper? If you lost your job when the economy tanked and every single possibility to make money was absolutely closed and you moved in with family to avoid being homeless, are you a church hopper?
I'm no Bible scholar, but I did graduate from Bible school, and I did have to learn what church hopping is and is not.
Church hoppers are people who do not join up, they never ever join because they do not want to be under the authority of a local church. Church hoppers go from church to church, without ever joining a single church in order to avoid being accountable to anyone. We need to be very careful how we just throw terms around ignorantly without knowing someone's background.
The End.
P.S.church hoppers aren't usually missed after they're gone
Jeremiah 23
1.Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith the Lord.
2 Therefore thus saith the Lord God of Israel against the pastors that feed my people; Ye have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them: behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, saith the Lord.
3 And I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all countries whither I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase.
4 And I will set up shepherds over them which shall feed them: and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall they be lacking, saith the Lord.
